The National Self-Employment Association is proud to recognise Zoee Pty Ltd as this year’s Best New Business Award winner.
Founded in Melbourne, Zoee Pty Ltd is a boutique home care provider delivering personalised support to self-managed and plan-managed HCP and NDIS participants, as well as privately funded clients.
The business was born from lived experience. While caring full-time for someone whose health needs were increasing, founder Zoe witnessed firsthand the lack of dignity and personalisation that can exist within parts of the aged care system. That experience became a turning point. She saw an opportunity to create a service where clients are thoughtfully matched with workers who genuinely connect with them – based on personality, interests and care needs – and where respect is central to every interaction.
Although academically qualified in business and entrepreneurship, turning that vision into a compliant and sustainable care business required structure and practical support. Through the Self-Employment Assistance program delivered by Holmesglen Institute, Zoe gained hands-on training in business planning, compliance and financial management. Ongoing mentoring provided accountability, strategic insight and the confidence to make critical business decisions.
Importantly, support through Holmesglen Institute’s Self-Employment Assistance program enabled Zoe to pivot her original business model to a structured agency approach, strengthening quality control and fostering meaningful, consistent client-worker relationships.
